Overview
This Privacy Policy explains how Themroc Limited ("Themroc", "we", "our") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use our NumbersSolver mobile application ("NumbersSolver", "the app").
NumbersSolver is a numbers puzzle solver. We have designed it to be as private as possible: no account is required, no personal information is collected from you, and your settings data never leaves your device. The app does not connect to any server operated by us.
Information We Collect
1. Information You Provide
None. NumbersSolver does not require account creation or any personal information from you.
2. Data Stored Locally on Your Device
The following data is stored only on your device using iOS system storage (UserDefaults):
- App preferences (appearance, seed count, solution limit)
This data never leaves your device. It is not transmitted to our servers or any third party. NumbersSolver makes no network requests to servers operated by us.
3. Advertising Data (Google AdMob)
NumbersSolver shows ads through Google AdMob. The Google Mobile Ads SDK is active whenever the app runs. Depending on the consent choice you make in the app, this may involve:
- Your device's advertising identifier — only if you grant Apple's App Tracking Transparency permission
- Approximate (coarse) location, typically derived from your IP address, used to help select and measure relevant ads
- Device and app information shared with Google and its advertising partners, used to select and measure ads
We do not receive or store this data ourselves — it is processed by Google and its advertising partners under their own privacy policies. You control this through the consent choices described in “Your Ad Choices” below.
Legal Basis for Processing (UK GDPR)
NumbersSolver does not operate its own servers or collect any data from you directly. The only personal data processing that occurs in connection with NumbersSolver is advertising data processed by Google AdMob.
Advertising data processed via Google AdMob is based on your consent (UK GDPR Article 6(1)(a)), gathered through an in-app consent message when you are located in the EEA, UK, or Switzerland. You can withdraw or change this consent at any time — see “Your Ad Choices” below.
All other data (your settings) is stored locally on your device only. We do not process it.
Your Ad Choices
NumbersSolver gives you control over ad-related data sharing:
- EEA, UK, and Switzerland: you will see a consent message the first time ads are shown, letting you choose whether ads are personalised. You can review or change this choice at any time.
- California and other applicable US states: you can opt out of the “sale or sharing” of your personal information for advertising purposes, as those terms are defined under applicable state law, at any time.
To change your choice, open NumbersSolver and go to Settings → Privacy Options.
Data Sharing
Advertising Partners
NumbersSolver uses Google AdMob to show ads that help keep the app free. Google and its advertising partners may process device and advertising data as described above, subject to the consent choices available to you in the app.
We do not sell your personal information for money. Depending on your location, ad-related data sharing with our advertising partners may be considered a “sale” or “share” of personal information under applicable law (for example, California's CPRA). You can opt out of this sharing at any time — see “Your Ad Choices” above.
Other Third Parties
Themroc Limited does not sell, rent, or share your personal information with any third party for any purpose other than the advertising described above.
Legal Requirements
We may disclose information if required to do so by law, for example in response to a court order, or where necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of Themroc Limited, our users, or others.
Children's Privacy
NumbersSolver is suitable for all ages and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children.
Age Rating: Rated 4+ (suitable for all ages). This reflects that NumbersSolver's content contains nothing objectionable for any age group — it is a separate question from who the app is designed and marketed for.
Audience Classification: NumbersSolver is classified as a general audience app, not an app directed to children, for purposes of advertising regulation (including the US Children's Online Privacy Protection Act, COPPA). It has no chat, messaging, or social features, no user-generated content, and no child-oriented characters or theming.
Advertising: NumbersSolver shows ads via Google AdMob under general-audience ad settings. We do not knowingly direct personalised advertising at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children in connection with advertising.
No Account Required: Anyone can use NumbersSolver without providing any personal information.
Data Storage and Security
Local Storage
- All settings data is stored locally on your device using iOS system storage
- Data is protected by iOS app sandboxing (other apps cannot access it)
- Data may be included in your device's encrypted backups, if you have backups enabled
Data Retention
- Your settings data remains on your device until you delete the app
- Deleting the app removes all local data permanently
- We hold no data about you on our own servers
Security
- No sensitive personal information is collected
- Your device's iOS security protects locally stored data
Your Rights
Under UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018, you have the following rights in relation to your personal data:
- Right of access: You can request details of what personal data we hold about you
- Right to erasure: You can request deletion of your personal data
- Right to object: You can object to processing based on legitimate interest
- Right to restrict processing: You can ask us to limit how we use your data
- Right to data portability: You can request your data in a portable format
- Right to rectification: You can ask us to correct inaccurate data
In practice, Themroc Limited holds no personal data about you from NumbersSolver. All settings data is stored on your device and entirely within your control. Any personal data processed in connection with advertising is held by Google, not us.
Exercising Your Rights
To exercise any of the above rights, contact us at privacy@themroc.net. We will respond within 30 days.
Deleting Your Settings Data
Because your settings are stored locally, you can delete them at any time simply by deleting the NumbersSolver app from your device. There is no need to contact us to do this.
Right to Complain
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your personal data, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
European Economic Area (EEA) Users
If you are located in the EEA, the same rights and protections described above apply to you under the EU GDPR.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated version number and effective date. Significant changes will also be noted in app update release notes.
Your continued use of NumbersSolver after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
